Incredible turns on October 5th, as the Wasatch receives its first blanket-2 feet of cold smoke!  Even though we prefer that heavy Cascade concrete or Sierra cement early on, the pre season turns were definitely quite enjoyable.....

18" New Snow This Past Weekend-Wasatch Range

18" of new snow has fallen over the past 3 days and we once again have powder conditions up high on thos N/NW facing aspects.  On all other aspects the snow has heated up a bit with the warming temperatures, but conditions are still quite nice across the range for late April!!!  Now is the time to take advantage of thos long days to do one of your favorite super tours or ski that radical line that you have been looking at all season when avalanche conditions were higher and made it not possible.  Spring in the Wasatch is wonderful, skiing in the morning and mountain biking, rock climbing or golfing in the afternoon!  It doesn't get better then this...

Great Corn Conditions-April 21, 2009

Corn conditions were ideal last week in the Wasatch, just about as buttery as they get.  Early starts were important, as the snow became elephant snot by about 11 AM.  The Toledo Chute and Flagstaff Ridge were in perfect form, starting with the East facing, then moving towards the South, and finally to the West facing slopes.  The steep pitches were really fun, as the corn cascaded down behind you, like you were slicing through big fields of butter.... Check out the pics to see all the fun!

Resembling Powder Snow

Conditions in the Wasatch are a mix of steller conditions in the late spring with blower powder and others which are character building, such as the recent elephant snot and breakable crust.  However, the images below are more of those desirable late season turns we all love so much- beautiful powder in the high alpine to corn in the middle elevations....

Wasatch Ski Touring-Shaping Up Nicely!
Utah's backcountry is shaping up nicely as 60-70" has fallen across the range this past week, filling in all of the beautiful terrain features that we all enjoy so much! The forecast looks good, as the storms are lined up off the Pacific and just waiting to move across the Great Basin area.  Utah is definitely living up to it's reputation as the "Greatest Snow On Earth"!

Today was the best day of the year with another shot of that cold smoke we all love! This season is shaping up nicely, check out these deep powder turns right in our own backyard!

Classic day of face shots in the W Bowl of Silverfork! The only problem we found today was that our legs ran out of gas for the uphill climbing and the fresh lines just kept coming & coming....

Snow Returns to the Wasatch!

The Northern Wasatch Mountains of Utah have turned back into winter mode, as yesterday's storm dropped 1 foot of 5% fluff!  Conditions have improved dramatically and there are more storms on the way later in the week. Yesterday was a fun tour, with 5 climbs skinning and untracked powder runs every time! As conditions improve, more trailheads will continue to open up and provide us with longer lines to ski & board.  For more updated snow, weather, and avalanche conditions, visit www.avalanche.org, under Utah.  Here, you will find the Utah Avalanche Center with daily weather and snowpack stability updates.  Stay tuned for more Endless Turns Snow Reports as those big Pacific storms roll in later this week...

Big Snow in the Andes

The Andes have been blanketed with up to 6 feet of new snow since the snows began falling across the Patagonian Andes on July 27, 2008.! From Ushuaia, up to Bariloche and San Martin, snow has been piling up and improving the bases depths dramatically. Las Lenas has also been experiencing the recent snowfalls, with up to 2 feet new this past week alone. Endless Turns has been enjoying all of the great new powder out there and much more is in the forecast! Our recent trips to the "End of the Earth" on the island of Tierra del Fuego and to the Lakes District of Patagonia could not have been better, as everyone enjoyed the over abundance of face shots and long powder runs. We still have some space on our trips in August and September.  From the great skiing to the limitless cultural activities, Endless Turns will take you there!!!
